Trekking
The Altai mountain region lies between Mongolia, Kazakhstan, China and Russia – a crossroads of cultures and one of the most spectacular and remote trekking destinations on Earth.
Bear Valley Adventures offers guided trekking expeditions through the heart of the Altai Mountains in Western Mongolia, where snow-capped peaks, glacial valleys, alpine lakes and endless wilderness await.
The Altai Mountains
The Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is home to Mongolia’s highest peak, Khuiten Uul, which rises to 4,374 metres. The park encompasses stunning glaciers, pristine alpine lakes, and some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in Central Asia.
This is a land of extremes – scorching summers and brutal winters, vast open steppes and towering mountain ranges, ancient petroglyphs and living nomadic traditions.
Our Trekking Tours
Our trekking expeditions are designed for adventurous travellers who want to experience the raw beauty of the Altai wilderness on foot. Routes range from moderate valley walks to challenging high-altitude treks across glaciers and mountain passes.
All treks are led by experienced local guides who know the mountains intimately. Pack horses or camels carry the heavy gear, leaving you free to enjoy the scenery and the experience.
